Show Description

Grammy & Emmy-winning writer/comedian Lewis Black (The Daily Show) and composer Rusty Magee (Ubu Rock, The Green Heart) join forces to tell the story of Eugene Reeves, a small-town American boy who became the biggest rock star in the Soviet Bloc. From his humble beginnings as "The Singing Dishwasher" in Nevada, to his hit record as "The Groovey Gringo" in South America, to his Soviet superstardom as "The Czar of Rock and Roll", Eugene's story is an international rock epic about one man's search for Marxism, music, and the hottest women on the far side of the Iron Curtain.

Directed by Evan Cabnet, this one-night-only event will feature Broadway's hottest stars performing such Eugene Reeves classics as "I Am Not Particularly Fond of America", "I'm Just a Red Who's Singing the Blues", and the greatest Marx-inspired hip hop dance break ever staged. "The Czar of Rock and Roll" is not to be missed.

A one-year New York Magazine subscription, a $9.97 value, will be included with your ticket purchase for this show! Feel free to click here for more information.
